Director of education
As Director of Education for all Zucker Jewish Academy schools, Dr. Laya Salomon oversees the school’s mission, vision, educational principles, curricula, and teaching and learning standards, ensuring all schools meet high benchmarks for academic success.
Dr. Salomon’s passion is for children and for educating with goals that are learner-centered. She believes in the innate joy of learning and the role of schools in cultivating that joy through targeted, challenging, and personalized learning experiences. She is honored to be a partner in building a network of schools that is committed to educational excellence and effective teaching practices, while rooted in strong Jewish values and beliefs.
In addition to her role at Zucker Jewish Academy, Dr. Salomon serves as the Director of the Master’s Program and an Associate Professor at the Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education & Administration at Yeshiva University, where she teaches graduate and doctoral-level courses in curriculum, assessment, lesson planning, teaching methods, mentoring, supervision, and leadership.

Rabbi Yaakov Moskowitz
With a passion for inspiring meaningful growth, Rabbi Yaakov Moskowitz is known for developing innovative parent and community engagement initiatives that strengthen families’ connection to Jewish values and community.
Most recently, Rabbi Moskowitz served as Director of Community Engagement at Yeshiva Toras Chaim Toras Emes, where he led the school’s parent education and community engagement efforts through creative programming and meaningful initiatives. During his tenure, he also served as a middle school Judaic Studies educator.
Earlier, Rabbi Moskowitz served as Campus Rabbi for Aish HaTorah at Stony Brook University, where he inspired students from all Jewish backgrounds through Judaism 101 courses, immersive Jewish experiences, and personal mentorship.
Rabbi Moskowitz has inspired audiences around the world through lectures and workshops on parenting, marriage, Jewish identity, and personal growth. His talks are featured on TorahAnytime, his insightful articles have appeared in numerous publications, and he regularly shares uplifting messages through several WhatsApp communities. He also serves as a marriage coach, mentoring couples to build strong marriages.
